Our Design Philosophy

It’s about more than just using pretty colours.

The best synergy between form and function occurs when aesthetically pleasing design marries with robust yet flexible development.”

Successful design for websites, mobile applications, e-learning applications or e-commerce websites  involves more than just creating beautiful graphics and using stunning images.

We believe that every part of a customer’s journey through a client’s website or application should be memorable; that the design  should enhance and strengthen our client’s brand and that the goals set for the project are achieved in the most convincing manner.

In order to realise those aims, we spend a lot of time working with our clients, getting to know their business in as intimate a way as possible.

Not only does this approach provide quality information to our design and copywriting teams, but it also helps to solidify  the aims of the project.

In addition, it allows us to do what we do best – design a stylish, customised, high performance website or application that addresses our client’s requirements in the most efficient way possible.

Marketing and communication design

Marketing and communication design.

Drawing on information gained in our Digital Strategy service, we would identify what works best for your target market. We would address demographic and geographic segments, age groups or particular strands of culture to best understand the trends of their audience. For example:

  • (B2B) business-to-business: Websites that facilitate information exchange, provide services for fees, enable trade transfers, manage subscriptions or simply keep people up-to-date.
  • Consumer targeted websites:  E-Commerce websites that manage funds transfer and logistics such as  retail or entertainment websites, blogs and socially-oriented websites.
  • Government and Education websites : Websites that may contain large amounts of information that needs to be administered by multiple users, sites that must comply strictly with W3C and accessibility standards.

User interface and interactive design.

The success of a website’s or application’s uptake to a target audience primarily relies on users understanding how it works. A successful user experience relies on logical and intuitive layout, clear instructions and consistent navigation and feedback. If a user perceives the website or application to be useful, they are more likely to continue using it, as well as pass on the experience and share it with friends, colleagues and their social media connections.

Consequently, we ensure that we create your website’s user interface in such a way that the design does not interfere with the functionality but enhances it; that we do not alienate users by making what should be simple complex; and that we ensure clear and consistent instructions to allow users to find information easily so that the desired outcomes of the interaction are achieved with a minimum of fuss.

Mobile and tablet responsive design

Design for desktop and mobile devices.

We take for granted that websites should be flexible enough in their design so as to allow for implementations on differing screen sizes, orientations and pixel density. To see what we mean, try browsing this website on a mobile device, iPad or Android tablet device. Or resize the browser that you’re using to view this page on your desktop or laptop computer.

You’ll see that the layout changes to best suit the device, orientation and browser window size. We think that this should be standard for all websites and will make sure it works that way for yours, too.

This is called Responsive Design.

Some of our website designs can be found in our website design portfolio.
